Trump says U.S. carried out major bombing raid on Iran’s Kharg Island

Riyadh, March 14 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States carried out a major bombing raid on Iran’s Kharg Island, targeting military sites on the strategic island in the Persian Gulf.
In a post on social media, Trump said the U.S. Central Command carried out what he described as one of the most powerful bombing raids in the history of the Middle East.
Trump said the operation “totally obliterated every military target” on Kharg Island.
He added that the United States did not strike the island’s oil infrastructure.
“For reasons of decency, I have chosen not to wipe out the oil infrastructure on the island,” Trump said, warning that the decision could change if Iran or others interfere with the free and safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
Kharg Island is the primary terminal through which most of Iran’s oil exports pass.
Trump made the announcement in a social media post before departing for Florida for the weekend. He did not mention the operation when speaking with reporters before boarding Air Force One.
