RIYADH, June 10 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - U.S. President Donald Trump warned on Wednesday that Iran would “pay the price” after what he described as delays in negotiations, following a new wave of U.S. strikes against Iranian targets.
“Iran is all talk and no action. The Bully of the Middle East is DEAD!!! They’ve taken too long to negotiate a deal that would have been great for them, now they will have to pay the price!!!” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.
Trump did not specify what further action the United States could take.
The comments came after Washington launched new strikes against Iran on Tuesday following the downing of a U.S. Army Apache helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz.
A U.S. official told CNN the strikes were intended as a warning to Iran and that Washington believed they would not prevent negotiations aimed at ending the war.
