Washington, Sept 27, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday that talks on Gaza with Middle Eastern nations were “intense” and would continue for as long as required, adding that both Israel and Palestinian Hamas militants were aware of the discussions.
Trump met leaders and officials from several Muslim-majority countries this week to discuss the situation in Gaza, which has faced a sustained Israeli assault. U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff said Trump presented a proposal that included a 21-point Middle East peace plan.
“Intense negotiations have been going on for four days, and will continue for as long as necessary in order to get a Successfully Completed Agreement. All of the Countries within the Region are involved,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Trump, who had pledged to quickly end the war, has yet to secure a resolution eight months into his term. His presidency began with a two-month ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, which ended on March 18 when Israeli strikes killed 400 Palestinians.
“Hamas is very much aware of these discussions, and Israel has been informed at all levels,” Trump added, describing the talks as “inspired and productive.” He provided no further details.
Trump officials said this week a breakthrough on Gaza was possible soon despite continued Israeli bombardments of the territory.
Images of starving Palestinians, including children, have sparked global outrage over Israel’s assault on Gaza, which has killed tens of thousands of people and displaced the enclave’s entire population. Multiple rights experts, scholars and a UN inquiry have described the actions as genocide.
