Riyadh, March 5, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – U.S. President Donald Trump said further action to reduce pressure on oil markets could be taken soon as tensions continue in the region.

Speaking from the East Room of the White House on Thursday, Trump said oil prices had largely stabilized.

“The oil seems to have pretty much stabilized. We had it very low, but I had to take this little detour,” Trump said.

Earlier this week, Trump said on social media that he had ordered the U.S. development finance arm to provide political risk insurance for tankers transporting oil and other goods through the Persian Gulf.

Political risk insurance is designed to protect companies against financial losses resulting from political instability, government actions, or violence.
