Trump expresses support for Hegseth amid reports on US munitions stockpile
WASHINGTON, August 6 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — President Donald Trump expressed support for Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Thursday as media reports focused on the Pentagon’s depleted munitions stockpile.
“I am extremely happy with the job that Pete Hegseth is doing. Everything has been extraordinary, including our attack on Venezuela, where the result was accomplished in less than one day, allowing us to bring one of the worst criminals anywhere in the World, Nicolas Maduro, to Justice!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“Likewise, Iran, where the country has been decimated for the purpose of NOT ALLOWING IT TO EVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON, is going very well!” Trump added.
Trump also described Hegseth as “highly respected.”
Earlier Thursday, Trump said the United States had “massive amounts” of munitions. His statement followed reports by several media organizations, including CNN, that the Pentagon’s stockpile had been depleted.
