Trump adds fifth objective to U.S. Iran war strategy

Washington, March 21, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – U.S. President Donald Trump added a fifth objective for the Iran war, after his administration had maintained for weeks that its four objectives remained “unchanged, unambiguous, and consistent” since the operation began.

The four objectives had been to block Iran’s path to a nuclear weapon, stop it from arming proxy militant groups, destroy its navy and destroy its ballistic missile capacity.

In a social media post on Friday, Trump enumerated those and added a fifth: “Protecting, at the highest level, our Middle Eastern Allies” and listed America’s Gulf partners.
