Riyadh, February 16, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb inaugurated the Rixos Murjana Resort at King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), a project enabled by the Tourism Development Fund (TDF) in partnership with Emaar, the Economic City (EEC) and FTG Development Co.

The Tourism Development Fund supported the project in its capacity as an investor and financier, while EEC, the master developer of KAEC, participated as an investor. FTG Development Co served as the project developer.

The resort, described as the Kingdom’s largest all-inclusive resort, will welcome visitors from within and outside Saudi Arabia at KAEC. The inauguration took place in the presence of TDF Chief Executive Officer Qusai bin Abdullah Al-Fakhri and Rixos Hotels Chairman Fettah Tamince.

Rixos Murjana Resort targets families and leisure travellers and includes 488 rooms and suites with sea views, as well as 33 villas, a fitness centre, a sports complex, and meeting and conference facilities.

The project is expected to create 250 jobs for Saudi nationals.

Al-Khateeb described the opening as a step in developing tourism destinations in the Kingdom and as an indication of tourism projects moving into the operational phase.

He linked the project to TDF’s role in converting investment into tourism destinations that expand leisure options for families and support Saudi Vision 2030 objectives.

The resort includes “Murjana Waterpark,” described as the first fully integrated hotel water park in the Kingdom, with 11 water attractions.
