Thunderstorms and Hail Forecast Across Southwestern Saudi Arabia


RIYADH, Aug 17 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Thunderstorms accompanied by hail and gusty winds are forecast across parts of Jazan, Aseer and Al-Baha regions, along with the southern highlands of Makkah Region, according to the National Center for Meteorology.


Dust-stirring winds are also expected across Eastern, Riyadh and Qassim regions and parts of Northern Borders, Al-Jouf, Tabuk, Madinah and Najran regions. Horizontal visibility could fall to near zero along the coastline of Makkah Region.


Conditions will remain hot to extremely hot in Eastern, Riyadh and Qassim regions.


Across the northern and central Red Sea, northwesterly to westerly winds will reach speeds of 15-45 km/h. Winds in the southern section will range from southwesterly to northwesterly at 15-55 km/h.


Red Sea waves will measure between half a meter and more than two and a half meters, with conditions ranging from calm to choppy.


In the northern Arabian Gulf, northeasterly to northwesterly winds will reach 15-34 km/h. The central and southern sections will experience southeasterly to northeasterly winds at 10-23 km/h.


Waves in the Arabian Gulf will range from half a meter to one meter, and the sea will remain calm.
