Three Falcons Fetch SAR161,000 at International Falcon Breeders Auction in Riyadh

RIYADH — Three falcons were sold for a combined SAR161,000 during the ninth night of the International Falcon Breeders Auction 2026, as competitive bidding continued to draw falconers and visitors to the event north of Riyadh.
The evening featured falcons from breeding farms in Britain, Austria and Bahrain, highlighting the international participation that has become a central feature of the annual Saudi auction.
Bidding began with a falcon presented by a British farm, which was sold for SAR35,000.
The highest-priced sale of the night followed when a falcon from an Austrian breeding farm fetched SAR86,000.
A third falcon, offered by a Bahraini farm, closed the evening after selling for SAR40,000, bringing the night’s combined sales to SAR161,000.
The latest results add to a series of competitive sales recorded during this year’s International Falcon Breeders Auction, which brings specialized breeding farms together with buyers from Saudi Arabia and abroad.
The event provides falconers with access to birds from international breeders in a centralized marketplace, with sales taking place through live competitive bidding.
The auction has also attracted visitors interested in falconry and its place within Saudi and regional heritage, combining commercial activity with one of the Arabian Peninsula’s longstanding cultural traditions.
For breeders, the event provides an opportunity to reach Saudi and international buyers, while falconers can evaluate birds from farms operating in different countries within the same venue.
Auction proceedings are also accessible beyond the venue, with bidding events broadcast on television and livestreamed through the National Center for Falcons’ social media channels.
The ninth-night sales further underline the international character of the 2026 event, with all three falcons sold during the session coming from breeding farms outside Saudi Arabia.
As the auction continues, further bidding sessions are expected to showcase falcons from participating farms from around the world, reinforcing Riyadh’s growing position as a major meeting point for the international falcon breeding and falconry community.
