Sweden Orders Iranian Embassy Official to Leave, Summons Ambassador

STOCKHOLM, September 16, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Sweden has asked an official at the Iranian embassy in Stockholm to leave the country and summoned Iran’s ambassador, the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs said on Wednesday.
The ministry cited activity that it described as incompatible with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
It did not identify the official, specify the nature of the activity or state when the individual must leave Sweden.
The Vienna Convention establishes the rules, protections and privileges governing diplomatic missions and their personnel.
