JEDDAH, July 1 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - The scientific and technical sessions accompanying Saudi Water Week 2026 concluded in Jeddah after four days of discussions on water security, sustainability and the future of water management.
The event, held at the Ritz-Carlton Jeddah, brought together decision-makers, experts, researchers, representatives of international organizations, government entities and the private sector.
The final day focused on practical solutions for managing water resources, strengthening community resilience to environmental and climate challenges and reviewing international practices in governance, investment, digital transformation and localization of technology.
Sessions also addressed water efficiency in urban areas, integrated water risk management, smart dam management and the shift in water services toward more comprehensive beneficiary experiences.
Participants discussed the relationship between water and food security, including models that can help turn water scarcity challenges into opportunities for sustainable agricultural and food production in dry regions.
The program also examined Saudi efforts to localize supply chains and attract foreign direct investment into the water sector, supporting the development of related national industries.
Several sessions focused on digital transformation, data analytics and smart technologies in water management, as well as irrigation practices aimed at improving water use in agriculture.
The accompanying Saudi Water Exhibition continued during the event, presenting technologies and solutions in water resource management, desalination, reuse and digital systems.
The closing day also included capacity-building workshops on water transmission systems, smart data and remote sensing, water audit governance, incident investigation and safety practices.
