RIYADH, July 9 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz met Turkish Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum in Riyadh to discuss climate cooperation.


Kurum is also president-designate of the 31st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which Türkiye will host in Antalya in November 2026.


The two ministers discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation on climate action and advance the objectives of the UNFCCC and the Paris Agreement.


They also stressed the importance of inclusive, balanced and practical outcomes that take into account the national circumstances of participating countries.


The meeting reviewed Saudi Arabia’s climate initiatives, including renewable energy expansion, emissions management, the Saudi Green Initiative and Circular Carbon Economy technologies.


The ministers also discussed national and regional programmes, including the Clean Energy Ministerial and Mission Innovation, which are scheduled to take place in the fourth quarter of this year.
