Riyadh, February 10, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector saw significant growth in 2025, setting new records for spending and visitor numbers, Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb said during the Public Investment Fund Private Sector Forum.

Al-Khateeb noted that the sector’s contribution to GDP has risen from 3.5% in 2019 to 5%, with a target of 10%, and that employment has surpassed one million, up from around 750,000. He emphasized the role of local content and public-private partnerships in developing the sector under Saudi Vision 2030.

The minister highlighted the involvement of the PIF in developing major destinations such as the Red Sea and Qiddiya projects, aimed at attracting investment and enabling private-sector participation in hotels and tourism services. Tourism development initiatives include incentives and financing from the Tourism Development Fund.

Al-Khateeb said upcoming events, including international exhibitions and sports competitions, are expected to increase annual visitor numbers to 150 million, presenting opportunities for further private investment.
