Saudi Student Jana Saleh Abdullah Al-Subeil Wins Gold and Best Female Student Award at INSO 2026

JEDDAH, August 9 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Saudi student Jana Saleh Abdullah Al-Subeil won a gold medal and the “Best Female Student” award presented by the International Atomic Energy Agency at the International Nuclear Science Olympiad 2026.
Saudi Arabia topped the olympiad results, with Amjad Mahmoud Issa Al-Darwish also winning gold and receiving the title of “Nuclear Science Ambassador” after achieving the highest combined score in the theoretical and practical examinations.
Abdulaziz Abdulmohsen Al-Shurayt received a silver medal, while Saleh Mubarak Daifallah Al-Harbi won bronze.
Al-Subeil was selected for the special award following two five-hour examinations that assessed participants’ knowledge of nuclear science, analytical and experimental skills and problem-solving abilities. The prize was established by the INSO council to recognize outstanding female students and encourage their participation in scientific fields.
The olympiad awarded eight gold medals, 13 silver medals, 18 bronze medals and several special prizes among a field of 120 students and scientific specialists from 19 countries.
The Saudi Ministry of Education, Mawhiba and King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy jointly organized the event. King Abdulaziz University hosted the olympiad in Jeddah from August 2 to 9 under the theme “Bright Minds for a Promising Future.”
