Saudi Standards Team Wins First Platinum Award at International Standards Olympiad

RIYADH, August 14 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — The Saudi Standards Team won the only platinum award presented at the 21st International Standards Olympiad, securing Saudi Arabia’s first top honour since it began participating in the competition.
The Saudi team also received one silver and one bronze during the Olympiad, held in Korea from August 12 to 14 with 105 students representing 11 countries.
The students were prepared by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity, known as Mawhiba, the Ministry of Education and the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization.
The results follow three awards secured by Saudi students during the previous edition: one gold and two silver.
Saudi Arabia has now collected eight International Standards Olympiad awards since it began participating in 2024. The total comprises one platinum, one gold, three silver, two bronze and one Honorable Mention.
The Olympiad promotes awareness of standards and their role in everyday life, industry and the economy. It also develops teamwork, critical thinking and analytical skills through the application of standards and quality concepts.
