RIYADH, November 21, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Minister of Sport Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal said that Saudi Vision 2030 has created broad opportunities across multiple fields, with the sports sector emerging as one of the most prominent beneficiaries.
Speaking during a session at the ninth annual Misk Global Forum (MGF25), held on November 19–20 at the Mohammed Bin Salman Foundation (Misk Foundation) in Riyadh, the minister said the sports sector has undergone significant transformation compared to previous years. He noted that several sports previously lacked governing federations or organized practice.
Prince Abdulaziz said the Kingdom now has around 97 sports federations, along with facilities and infrastructure that continue to be developed in line with Vision 2030 goals.
He emphasized that the current phase requires turning opportunities into tangible outcomes by harnessing the energy and ambition of Saudi youth, contributing to strengthening the Kingdom’s presence in regional and international sports arenas.
The minister added that about 70% of Saudis are under the age of 40, making this group a key pillar in expanding participation in sports activities and events. He underscored the importance of providing suitable opportunities for youth to engage in diverse sports experiences and achieve a strong international presence.
Prince Abdulaziz highlighted the Kingdom’s recent progress in international championships, including Saudi Arabia’s first qualification for the Winter Olympics, noting that these advancements stem from the leadership’s directives to broaden opportunities and participation in all sports fields.
