RIYADH, Oct 1 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — The Saudi Red Sea Authority granted Red Sea Global operating licenses for the Amaala and Shura Island marinas on Thursday, strengthening their readiness to receive yachts and supporting integrated marine services across destinations being developed along Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The licenses were handed over in Riyadh by Mohammed Bukhari, executive vice president for coastal tourism operations at the authority, to Raed Al-Basseet, chief environment and sustainability officer at Red Sea Global.

The licenses were issued under regulations governing the design and operation of tourist marinas, including requirements covering health, safety and environmental protection.

The framework is intended to support service quality for yacht owners and visitors while providing operators and investors with clear regulatory requirements for Saudi Arabia’s growing coastal tourism sector.

Red Sea Global has also launched a yacht network bringing the management and operation of its marinas and yacht clubs along the Red Sea coast under a single structure.

Amaala Marina, part of the Amaala Yacht Club, provides 119 berths, while Shura Island Marina offers 159 berths and is described as the largest tourist marina built on an island in Saudi Arabia.

Together, the two marinas provide 278 berths and can accommodate yachts measuring up to 120 metres.

Amaala Yacht Club covers about 7,900 square metres and includes facilities and services for yacht owners and visitors, integrating sailing, hospitality and marine services.

The licensing forms part of efforts to expand coastal tourism, attract investment and strengthen the Red Sea’s competitiveness as an international tourism destination in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
