Saudi, Qatari Interior Ministers Review Security Cooperation in Riyadh

RIYADH, September 18, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Saudi Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz met Qatar’s Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani in Riyadh on Thursday, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The two ministers reviewed security cooperation and coordination between Saudi Arabia and Qatar, discussed ways to expand joint work and addressed issues of common interest.
Following their bilateral meeting, Prince Abdulaziz and Sheikh Khalifa co-chaired the fourth meeting of the Security and Military Committee formed under the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council.
Prince Abdulaziz said the committee’s work reflected the directives of Saudi Arabia’s leadership and the relationship between the two countries.
He also referred to agreements reached during the eighth meeting of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council, which was held in Riyadh under the chairmanship of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Qatar’s Emir.
The Saudi minister called for stronger cooperation and coordination between the two countries, particularly in responding to regional and international challenges.
