Saudi, Pakistani Foreign Ministers Express Concern Over US-Iran Escalation

PARIS, July 11, Saudi Arabia Breaking News — Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his Pakistani counterpart, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, expressed “deep concern” on Saturday over the renewed escalation between the United States and Iran, according to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During a phone call, the two ministers discussed recent regional developments and the latest hostilities despite the agreement signed by Washington and Tehran in June.

“The two leaders exchanged views on the recent developments in the region and expressed deep concern over the escalations despite the signing of the Islamabad MoU between the United States and Iran in June,” the ministry said on X.

Pakistan has played a central mediation role during the conflict, with the US-Iran agreement formally known as the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding in recognition of the country’s diplomatic involvement.

The ministers said the renewed conflict “serves no one’s interest and undermines efforts toward regional peace and stability,” according to the ministry.

Prince Faisal and Dar agreed to remain in contact as diplomatic efforts continue.
