Saudi, Omani foreign ministers co-chair third Coordination Council meeting in Muscat

MUSCAT, December 23 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah met on Monday with Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, as the two sides co-chaired the third meeting of the Saudi-Omani Coordination Council in the Omani capital.
The meeting reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and explored ways to strengthen cooperation across political, economic and development sectors, alongside discussions on regional and international developments.
The third meeting of the Coordination Council was held with the participation of the heads of the Council’s subsidiary committees and the two General Secretariat teams, and followed the Council’s second meeting, which took place in AlUla on December 12, 2024.
Prince Faisal said the meeting builds on the outcomes of the previous session and stressed the importance of continued work by the subsidiary committees to complete procedures related to the remaining initiatives, as well as the General Secretariat’s role in monitoring implementation and addressing challenges.
He highlighted the need to expand trade and investment ties, enhance cooperation between the public and private sectors, and advance economic integration, noting the signing of minutes facilitating mutual recognition of rules of origin and the launch of the second phase of industrial integration initiatives between the two countries.
Prince Faisal also welcomed progress on establishing the Coordination Council’s electronic platform, aimed at linking initiatives and committee work to support follow-up and implementation, and cited advances in cooperation across economic, industrial, energy and investment sectors.
For his part, Al Busaidi said relations between the two countries have seen qualitative progress, pointing to growing economic integration, increased intra-trade and joint investments, and deeper cooperation in security, judicial, cultural and tourism fields. He also noted continued political coordination on regional and international issues.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides signed the minutes of the third meeting of the Saudi-Omani Coordination Council.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from both sides, including representatives from the interior, investment, economy and planning, culture and diplomatic sectors.
