Saudi National Greening Program Wins Arab Environmental Excellence Award
RIYADH, Oct 2 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Saudi Arabia’s National Greening Program has won the Arab Environmental Excellence Award in the “land rehabilitation to enhance resilience” category for an outstanding government-sector environmental project, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The award, organized by the Council of Arab Ministers Responsible for the Environment, recognized the program’s work under the Saudi Green Initiative to protect ecosystems, rehabilitate degraded land and expand sustainable vegetation cover across the Kingdom.
The National Greening Program forms part of Saudi Arabia’s broader environmental efforts aimed at restoring natural landscapes and strengthening ecosystem resilience.
The Arab Environmental Excellence Award is held every two years and recognizes achievements across five areas: government, civil society, private enterprise, environmental scientific innovation and joint Arab environmental action.
