Riyadh, September 29 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Fahd bin Khalid Al-Ghamdi has become the first Saudi national to receive classification from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in the field of air transport facilitation.

The recognition reflects Saudi Arabia’s growing presence in international aviation and supports the Kingdom’s ambition to be among the world’s leading countries in the sector.

Al-Ghamdi was selected by ICAO as one of only 12 international experts to serve as a certified trainer and reference for ICAO Annex 9 – Facilitation. His responsibilities include training representatives of member states, providing technical advice to governments, and contributing to the development of international legislation, protocols, and training materials. He will also support the updating of Annex 9 of the 1944 Chicago Convention and assist states in applying international standards.

Al-Ghamdi said his experience in Saudi Arabia, particularly during his tenure as Director-General of Air Transport Facilitation at the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), laid the foundation for this achievement.
