Saudi, German Foreign Ministers Sign Strategic Dialogue Pact in Berlin
RIYADH, Sept. 7 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met his German counterpart Johann Wadephul in Berlin on Sunday, where the two signed a memorandum of understanding to launch a strategic dialogue between the two countries at the foreign minister level.
The agreement aims to strengthen consultation and coordination between Riyadh and Berlin and to further develop bilateral relations across multiple fields, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
During the meeting, the two ministers reviewed the historical relationship between the two countries and discussed ways to deepen cooperation. They also addressed the situation in the region, underlining the importance of securing international waterways, preserving freedom of maritime navigation, and restoring normal conditions in the Strait of Hormuz.
Both sides reaffirmed support for peaceful and diplomatic solutions to regional and international crises.
The ministers additionally discussed trade and economic ties between the two countries, including the current volume of bilateral trade and ways to expand it, along with opportunities for greater investment cooperation across sectors.
A number of officials attended the meeting.
