Riyadh, February 16, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The General Transport Center has completed its operational and regulatory preparations for the 1447 AH Ramadan season to organize transport and mobility in Makkah and improve traffic management during peak periods, as the number of Umrah performers and worshippers is expected to rise.

The preparations include a comprehensive operational plan aligned with the center’s regulatory and executive role as the unified reference authority for Makkah’s transport ecosystem.

A transport control room has been activated to monitor operational readiness, public safety, compliance, and the integration of transport modes, including transport to and from the Grand Mosque, Makkah Buses, and Makkah Taxi services, with continuous operations around the clock.

Monitoring mechanisms and performance measurement tools have been adopted through periodic operational reports, with indicators covering mobility, compliance levels, and central station clearance times, alongside corrective and improvement recommendations implemented throughout the season.

At field level, routes and station conditions have been assessed and readiness strengthened through qualified personnel to regulate transport and mobility. Direct coordination with security authorities and relevant entities has been enhanced to support smooth traffic flow and transport user safety across Makkah, particularly in the central area.
