Riyadh, February 22, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned and rejected remarks by the United States ambassador to Israel in which he suggested that Israel’s control over the entire Middle East would be acceptable.

The ministry described the remarks as irresponsible and a violation of international law, the Charter of the United Nations and established diplomatic norms, and said they set a dangerous precedent coming from a U.S. official.

It said the rhetoric could threaten international peace and security by antagonising countries and peoples of the region and undermining the foundations of the international order, and called on the U.S. Department of State to clarify its position.

Saudi Arabia reiterated its longstanding position rejecting any actions that undermine the sovereignty, borders and territorial integrity of states, and reaffirmed that a just and comprehensive peace requires ending the occupation based on a two-state solution and establishing an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
