RIYADH, November 5 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi football teams across all age categories have achieved a series of notable victories over the past 55 days, strengthening the Kingdom’s position on the regional and international football stage.

On Tuesday, the U-16 national team won the 2025 West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) U-17 Championship after defeating Lebanon on penalties in the final held in Jordan.

The run of success began on September 10, when the U-19 national team won the Gulf Cup U-20 Championship with a 3-1 victory over Yemen. Less than a month later, the U-17 team claimed the Gulf Cup U-17 Championship, beating the UAE 2-0 in the final.

On October 14, Saudi Arabia’s senior national team qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, securing a spot for the third consecutive and seventh overall tournament appearance in the Kingdom’s history.

Saudi football’s upward trajectory continues amid growing optimism. The U-17 team will begin its campaign in the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025 on November 5, competing in Group 12 against Austria, New Zealand, and Mali.

Additionally, the senior national team will compete in the FIFA Arab Cup in Qatar this December as part of its preparations for the 2026 World Cup.
