Saudi Film Festival Production Market Awards Exceed SAR4 Million

DAMMAM, July 2 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - The Production Market at the Saudi Film Festival concluded its professional program with record figures for the festival, including 51 awards worth more than SAR4 million.
The value of the awards increased by more than 60% compared with the previous edition, while the market recorded 48 meetings and partnerships between filmmakers and production entities.
The 12th edition’s daily program included documentary and narrative films covering heritage, memory, sport, diving, cybersecurity, artistic biography, mystery, folklore and comedy.
Six documentaries were screened in one day as part of the documentary competition, including “King of Shoulders,” which explores the Saudi bisht.
The “Cinema of the Journey” section featured films from China, France, Egypt and the United States, highlighting the program’s geographic and human diversity.
Filmmakers and sector participants also held one-on-one sessions with specialists to exchange expertise and develop ideas, alongside post-screening discussions with directors.
Screenings were held at the Ithra Theater and cinema hall. Wednesday’s program included 14 films.
The festival is being held at the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture, Ithra, a Saudi Aramco initiative, and is organized by the Cinema Association in partnership with Ithra and with the support of the Film Commission.
