Riyadh, February 10 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense signed 28 contracts with local and international companies specialising in military industries during the World Defense Show (WDS) 2026 in Riyadh, the ministry said.

Defense Assistant Minister for Executive Affairs Khaled Biyari signed four contracts with the chief executives of France’s MBDA, Raytheon Saudi Arabia, South Korea’s Hanwha Aerospace, and Italy’s Leonardo.

Ministry of Defense Undersecretary for Procurement and Armament Ibrahim Al-Suwayed signed eight contracts with executives from local and French, Turkish, South Korean and Italian companies.

The remaining 16 contracts were signed by executive directors from the ministry’s procurement and armament sector with representatives from local and international firms.

The contracts aim to enhance the operational readiness of the armed forces’ branches, strengthen capabilities, improve combat efficiency and sustain relevant systems.

They also support local manufacturing initiatives in line with Saudi Vision 2030, which targets localisation of more than 50% of military equipment and service spending.
