Saudi Customs Seizes 18,549 Amphetamine Pills at Dammam Airport; Four Suspects Arrested

RIYADH, September 4, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Customs officers at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam intercepted an incoming postal parcel containing 18,549 amphetamine pills, with a follow-up operation leading to the arrest of four suspects, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) spokesperson Hamoud Al-Harbi said inspectors discovered the concealed drugs during routine customs clearance using advanced security detection systems and canine units.
Following the seizure, ZATCA coordinated with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to identify the intended recipients in Saudi Arabia. Four suspects were subsequently arrested.
Al-Harbi said the authority continues to counter smuggling across the Kingdom’s entry points in coordination with the Ministry of Interior and other security agencies.
ZATCA encouraged the public to report suspected smuggling through its confidential hotline, 1910, by email at 1910@zatca.gov.sa, or through the international number 009661910. The authority said confirmed tip-offs qualify for financial rewards.
