Riyadh, September 9, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – On behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud will deliver the annual royal speech on Wednesday, marking the opening of the second year of the Shura Council’s ninth session, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Shura Council Speaker Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh described the event as a significant national occasion, noting that the royal address provides clear directives supporting the council’s legislative and oversight roles and guiding its efforts in serving national interests.

The speech is expected to outline the Kingdom’s domestic and foreign policy priorities, reflecting the leadership’s commitment to progress and development.

Reviewing achievements from the council’s first year, Al Al-Sheikh said 462 decisions were issued across 41 sessions, supported by specialized committees that held 315 meetings and engaged with 248 officials to reinforce transparency and inter-agency cooperation.

The council also conducted 146 local and international engagements as part of its parliamentary diplomacy efforts, strengthening ties and promoting knowledge exchange.

Al Al-Sheikh added that the Kingdom’s ongoing transformation—including economic diversification, technological advancement, major national projects, and human capital development—is accompanied by a balanced foreign policy that enhances Saudi Arabia’s global presence and supports regional and international stability.

He affirmed that these achievements, supported by the leadership, provide a strong foundation for the Shura Council’s next phase, guided by the directives to be set forth in the Crown Prince’s speech.
