Saudi Crown Prince receives call from Russian President Vladimir Putin on regional escalation

RIYADH, April 2, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman received a phone call on Thursday from Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which the two sides discussed the fast-moving situation amid the military escalation in the region.
During the call, Putin expressed Russia’s support for preserving the sovereignty and territorial security of Saudi Arabia, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The discussions also covered the negative repercussions of the escalation, including its impact on maritime security and the global economy.
The two leaders also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues and other topics of common interest.
