RIYADH, October 21 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense urged people to stay in safe locations and avoid flood-prone areas as thunderstorms are forecast to continue across most of the Kingdom until next Monday.

The General Directorate of Civil Defense warned against approaching valleys and areas where floodwaters collect or swimming in them. It also called on the public to follow official instructions issued through media outlets and social media.

The National Center for Meteorology forecast moderate to heavy rain across parts of Makkah Region, with flash floods, hail and downdrafts that could raise dust and sand. The affected areas include Makkah, Al-Kamil, Al-Jumum, Bahrah, Taif, Maysan, Adham and Al-Ardiyat.

Light to moderate rain is expected in Jeddah, Khulais, Rabigh, Al-Laith, Al-Qunfudhah, Ranyah, Turabah, Al-Khurmah and Al-Muwayh.

Moderate to heavy rain is also forecast across Jazan, Aseer, Al-Baha, Madinah, Hail and Qassim regions, with the potential for flash floods, hail and dust-stirring downdrafts.

Eastern, Tabuk, Al-Jouf and Northern Borders regions are expected to receive light to moderate rain.
