Saudi Cabinet Reviews Shura Council Session, Condemns Israeli Attacks, and Approves Key Agreements

Riyadh, Sept. 16 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the Cabinet session held in Riyadh
The Cabinet congratulated Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on the opening of the second year of the ninth session of the Shura Council, commending the annual royal speech that highlighted the Kingdom’s strong foundations, developmental achievements, aspirations for national progress, and commitment to regional security and stability.
HRH the Crown Prince briefed the Cabinet on the outcomes of his participation in the extraordinary session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Arab-Islamic Emergency Summit in Doha. He praised both summits for their support of the State of Qatar following the Israeli attack and for reaffirming adherence to international law and norms.
The Cabinet condemned the attacks carried out by the Israeli occupation authorities in the region and reaffirmed the Kingdom’s full solidarity with Qatar and its support for all measures that ensure its security and sovereignty.
Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary said following the session that the Cabinet welcomed the United Nations General Assembly’s adoption of the New York Declaration, issued by the High-Level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and France. The resolution, supported by 142 countries, was described as reflecting a unified global commitment to a peaceful future and recognition of the Palestinian people’s right to establish an independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Cabinet also backed the joint statement issued by the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States on restoring peace and security in Sudan, expressing hope that the initiative would help alleviate the humanitarian crisis in the country.
The session reaffirmed the Kingdom’s continued support for Syria’s economic recovery, including a grant of 1.65 million barrels of crude oil aimed at improving living conditions for the Syrian people.
The Cabinet reviewed Saudi Arabia’s participation in the 69th session of the International Atomic Energy Agency General Conference and the Kingdom’s commitment to its national nuclear energy program, developed in cooperation with the IAEA to build human capital, strengthen capabilities, support technological progress, and promote economic and social development.
The Cabinet further highlighted Riyadh’s hosting of the Money20/20 Middle East Conference as a reflection of the Kingdom’s role in supporting innovation, entrepreneurship, and financial sector growth.
The Cabinet also issued a series of decisions, including:
Authorizing the chairman of the board of trustees of the King Fahd National Library, or a deputy, to sign a draft memorandum of understanding with the National Library of Indonesia.
Approving a memorandum of understanding with Nigeria on cooperation in combating drug trafficking and related crimes.
Approving a protocol between the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and China’s General Administration of Customs on inspection and quarantine of Saudi dairy exports.
Approving a memorandum of understanding on desertification with China’s Gansu Desert Control Research Institute.
Approving a memorandum of understanding on export development with Jordan’s Enterprise Development Corporation.
Authorizing the minister of education and chairman of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, or a deputy, to discuss with Türkiye a draft memorandum of understanding on technical and vocational training.
