Saudi Cabinet, chaired by Crown Prince, stresses dialogue and truce amid regional tensions

JEDDAH, August 5 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman chaired a Cabinet session in Jeddah on Tuesday, briefing ministers on his telephone call with US President Donald Trump and Saudi Arabia’s call for dialogue, de-escalation and a regional truce.
The Cabinet welcomed growing international support for the Saudi-led Multinational Maritime Defense Alliance, which it said would provide a multilateral framework to protect shipping lanes, trade routes and energy supplies in the Red Sea, the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Gulf of Aden.
On Gaza, the Cabinet expressed hope that an agreement on the decommissioning of weapons would advance the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Plan and support the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and an independent state. It also cited diplomatic efforts by Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye, the United States and the Board of Peace in reaching the agreement.
Separately, the Cabinet welcomed the International Monetary Fund’s 2026 Article IV Consultation report, saying it recognized the resilience of Saudi Arabia’s economy, its fiscal planning, financial and monetary stability, and structural reforms under Saudi Vision 2030.
The session also covered the Crown Prince’s calls with the leaders of Bahrain, Syria, Türkiye and Spain, plans to host the fifth Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum next April, the Pilgrim Experience Program, and cooperation decisions spanning investment, transport, vocational training, space and medical services.
