Saudi Arabia Welcomes U.S.-Iran Agreement to End Military Operations

RIYADH, June 15 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) - Saudi Arabia welcomed the agreement reached between the United States and Iran to end military operations and begin detailed negotiations over a 60-day period aimed at reaching a permanent agreement.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs commended mediation efforts by Pakistan and Qatar, as well as the response of the United States and Iran to those efforts.
The ministry noted that the mediation contributed to reaching the agreement.
Saudi Arabia emphasized the importance of restoring security and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to its status before February 28.
The Kingdom expressed hope that the agreement would support peace and strengthen regional and global security.
Saudi Arabia also stressed the need for any lasting agreement to take into account the security interests of regional countries and uphold respect for the internal affairs of states.
