RIYADH, July 31 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Saudi Arabia welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement of an agreement to decommission weapons in the Gaza Strip and reaffirmed its support for the Comprehensive Peace Plan.
The Kingdom credited Trump’s leadership and thanked Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye, the United States, the Board of Peace and other partners involved in reaching the agreement.
Saudi Arabia called for every phase of the plan to be implemented on schedule and in a credible and irreversible manner, in line with U.N. Security Council Resolution 2803.
The Kingdom also called for the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, the deployment of the International Stabilization Force and continued humanitarian and reconstruction assistance for Palestinians.
Saudi Arabia said the Palestinian Authority must return to Gaza and that the unity of the Occupied Palestinian Territory should be preserved.
The Kingdom said the agreement should open a wider political process supporting Palestinian self-determination and an independent state alongside Israel based on mutual recognition.
