RIYADH, November 29, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdulrahman Alfadley witnessed the signing of 12 agreements between the National Center for Palms and Dates and several public- and private-sector entities aimed at supporting the development of palm and date processing industries.

The minister also honored the winners of the fourth edition of the International Award of the National Center for Palms and Dates, which seeks to advance modern technologies and practices in the sector, encourage researchers and innovators to develop scientific and technical solutions, and strengthen the sector’s contribution to food security. Officials said the initiative also reinforces the Kingdom’s position as the world’s largest exporter of dates and supports national economic diversification in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

The recognition took place during the opening ceremony of the 6th International Dates Conference and Exhibition, which will continue until December 4 in Riyadh under the theme “Investment and Innovation to Explore New Horizons for the Palm and Date Sector.” The event is being held in scientific partnership with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and features participation from multiple domestic and international companies and institutions.

Officials said the agreements form part of broader efforts to strengthen public–private partnerships and expand industries derived from palm and date products.
