Saudi Arabia’s GDP Grows 3.9% in Q2 2025, Driven by Non-Oil Sector Expansion



Riyadh, September 8, 2025 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Arabia’s real gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 3.9% in the second quarter of 2025 compared to the same period last year, according to the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).


The GDP and National Accounts bulletin for Q2 2025 showed growth across all major economic activities. Non-oil activities rose by 4.6%, oil activities increased by 3.8%, and government activities grew by 0.6%. Non-oil activities contributed 2.6 percentage points (PP) to overall growth, while oil activities and net taxes on products added 0.9 PP and 0.3 PP, respectively.


On a quarterly basis, seasonally adjusted real GDP increased by 1.7% compared to Q1 2025, with oil activities contributing 1.3 PP and non-oil activities adding 0.4 PP.


By sector, the highest annual growth was recorded in electricity, gas, and water activities at 10.3%, followed by financial, insurance, and business services at 7.0%, and wholesale and retail trade, restaurants, and hotels at 6.6%.
