Jeddah, April 20 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met with Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council Chairman, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al – Burhan, in Jeddah on Monday to discuss the deteriorating security situation in the war – torn nation.
The high – level meeting focused on regional efforts to restore stability and safeguard Sudan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Both leaders emphasized the urgency of de-escalation the conflict, which has severely impacted regional security since it began in April 2023.
The discussions, attended by senior Saudi and Sudanese officials including Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, reviewed ongoing diplomatic initiatives aimed at ending the humanitarian crisis. This meeting follows a series of Saudi – led efforts to mediate a ceasefire through the “Jeddah Declaration” framework.
