Saudi Arabia records 9,576 residency, labor and border violations in one week

RIYADH, May 15 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Arabia recorded 9,576 residency, labor and border security violations during inspection campaigns across the kingdom from May 7 to 13, the Saudi Press Agency reported.


The Ministry of Interior recorded 4,865 residency violations, 3,319 border security violations and 1,392 labor law violations.


Authorities apprehended 1,500 people attempting to enter Saudi Arabia illegally and 58 attempting to leave the kingdom illegally.


The ministry also recorded 12 arrests involving people accused of transporting, sheltering or employing violators.


A total of 26,632 expatriates are currently undergoing regulatory procedures, while 11,272 people were repatriated.


The ministry warned that facilitating illegal entry, transport or shelter may carry penalties of up to 15 years in prison and fines of up to SAR1 million.
