Saudi Arabia Records 8,090 Residency, Labor and Border Security Violations

RIYADH, May 30 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Saudi Arabia recorded 8,090 violations of residency, labor and border security laws during inspection campaigns held from May 21 to 27, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The Ministry of Interior recorded 4,266 residency violations, 2,653 border security violations and 1,171 labor law violations.
Border authorities apprehended 1,176 people attempting to enter the Kingdom illegally, including 25% Yemenis, 68% Ethiopians and 7% from other nationalities.
Authorities also arrested 71 people attempting to leave the Kingdom illegally and 13 people involved in transporting, sheltering or employing violators.
The ministry said 21,685 expatriates are currently undergoing procedures to enforce regulations, including 20,512 men and 1,173 women.
A total of 14,484 violators were instructed to contact their embassies or consulates to obtain travel documents, while 572 were advised to make travel arrangements and 7,466 were repatriated.
The ministry warned that anyone facilitating illegal entry into the Kingdom, transporting violators, sheltering them or providing assistance could face up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to SAR1 million, in addition to confiscation of vehicles or properties used in the offense.
The ministry urged the public to report violations by calling 911 in Makkah, Riyadh and the Eastern Region, or 999 and 996 in other parts of the Kingdom.
