RIYADH, March 28, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Arabia ranked 22nd globally out of 147 countries in the World Happiness Report 2026, with a life evaluation score of 6.817 out of 10.
The report, published by the Wellbeing Research Centre at the University of Oxford in partnership with Gallup and the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network, is issued annually in conjunction with the International Day of Happiness on March 20.
It is based on survey data covering more than 140 countries and measures people’s life evaluations using factors including gross domestic product per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom to make life choices, generosity and perceptions of corruption.
The result reflects progress linked to Saudi Vision 2030, particularly through the Quality of Life Program, which uses the World Happiness Report as one of its reference indicators.
Quality-of-life sectors contributed more than $20.5 billion to Saudi Arabia’s gross domestic product, attracted more than $5.8 billion in non-government investment and boosted non-oil exports by more than $5.6 billion.
Saudi Arabia ranked ahead of the United States, which placed 23rd, Canada in 25th and the United Kingdom in 29th, while Finland topped the list for the ninth consecutive year, followed by Iceland and Denmark.
