DAMASCUS, February 6, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Culture Minister Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan inaugurated Saudi Arabia’s pavilion as guest of honor at the Damascus International Book Fair 2026 in the Syrian capital.

The opening took place in the presence of Syrian Culture Minister Mohammed Yassin Saleh and Qatari Culture Minister Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad bin Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Saudi Arabia is this year’s guest of honor at the fair, which runs through February 16. The participation is being led by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission within a program linked to the Kingdom’s cultural strategy under Vision 2030.

The Saudi delegation presented the participation as part of broader efforts to expand Arab cultural exchange, strengthen publishing and translation cooperation, and deepen Saudi-Syrian cultural engagement.

The pavilion program includes intellectual seminars, poetry evenings, a manuscripts exhibition, a Saudi fashion section, a hospitality section, a section for archaeological replicas, and Saudi performing arts presentations.

The Commission’s Chief Executive, Dr. Abdul Latif Al-Wasil, described the participation as a platform for institutional cultural cooperation and dialogue across the Arab cultural scene.
