Saudi Arabia’s unemployment rate stands at 3.2% in Q2 2025, GASTAT reports

Riyadh, September 30 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) released its Labor Market Publication for the second quarter of 2025, showing the overall labor force participation rate for Saudis and non-Saudis at 67.1%, with an unemployment rate of 3.2%.
For Saudis, the labor force participation rate stood at 49.2%, with unemployment recorded at 6.8%.
According to the report, Saudi males posted a labor force participation rate of 64% and an unemployment rate of 4.3%. Saudi females recorded a participation rate of 34.5%, with unemployment at 11.3%.
Among Saudi youth aged 15–24, the employment-to-population ratio was 13.8% for females and 28% for males, while labor force participation reached 17.4% and 31.6% respectively.
For Saudis of prime working age (25–54), the employment-to-population ratio was 63.3%, the participation rate was 67.3%, and the unemployment rate was 5.9%.
GASTAT noted that direct applications to employers remained the most common job search method at 72.4%, followed by the national unified employment platform Jadarat at 56.3%, while 50.5% of job seekers relied on relatives or friends for opportunities.
