Saudi Arabia intercepts multiple drones targeting energy facilities in Eastern Region

RIYADH, March 18, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Arabia intercepted and destroyed five drones that attempted to approach an energy facility in the Eastern Region, the Ministry of Defense said on Wednesday.
Major General Turki Al-Maliki, the ministry’s official spokesperson, said the drones were neutralized without any resulting damage.
In a separate incident, authorities also thwarted an additional drone attack targeting a gas facility in the same region.
No damage or injuries were reported.
