Saudi Arabia Enters Hottest Period of Summer as Peak Temperatures Begin

RIYADH, July 17, Saudi Arabia Breaking News — Saudi Arabia entered the hottest period of the summer on Thursday, beginning several weeks during which most regions are expected to experience their highest annual temperatures.
The period typically extends from mid-July until early August, according to Barjas Al-Fulaih of the AFAQ Society for Astronomy.
Al-Fulaih said the phase is traditionally known as the “date cooker” because the intense heat accelerates the ripening of dates.
He advised residents to avoid direct sunlight during peak hours and consume sufficient fluids to reduce the risk of heat stress and sunstroke.
