Saudi Arabia condemns Iranian attacks targeting Riyadh and eastern region

Riyadh, March 1, 2026 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Arabia condemned in the strongest terms Iran’s attacks targeting the capital, Riyadh, and the eastern region, which it said were successfully intercepted.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Saudi Foreign Ministry said the attacks came despite Iran’s knowledge that the Kingdom had affirmed it would not allow its airspace or territory to be used to target Iran.
A Saudi diplomat told The Associated Press that a message had been delivered to Iran’s leadership in an effort to avert potential Iranian missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia. The diplomat said the same message was delivered to Iran-backed Houthi forces in Yemen, speaking on condition of anonymity because the person was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly.
