Saudi Arabia calls for collective security frameworks at Gulf-Mediterranean Summit

ROME, June 26 — Saudi Arabia said the region’s current strategic restructuring requires comprehensive frameworks for dialogue and collective security, rather than policies based on hegemony or military force, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said.
Representing the Kingdom at the Gulf-Mediterranean Summit in Rome, Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Manal Radwan said the Palestinian issue remains central to regional security.
Radwan warned that the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, settlement expansion in the West Bank and the erosion of final status issues concerning Jerusalem undermine international stability.
She said ending the occupation, holding Israel accountable and establishing an independent Palestinian state are essential prerequisites for a just peace and sustainable regional stability.
Radwan also highlighted the importance of respecting state sovereignty, non-interference in internal affairs, safeguarding freedom of navigation and protecting global supply chains.
She called for a stronger Gulf-European partnership to address shared challenges in energy, the digital economy and strategic infrastructure.
Radwan said coordinated collective action is vital to resolving the root causes of regional crises.
