RIYADH, May 17 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) – Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court announced that Monday, May 18, will be the first day of Dhu Al-Hijjah 1447 AH, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The court said Arafat Day will fall on Tuesday, May 26, while Eid Al-Adha will begin on Wednesday, May 27.
The announcement followed a session held by the Supreme Court’s crescent sighting department on Sunday evening to review reports of the Dhu Al-Hijjah crescent moon.
The court said a number of witnesses had confirmed sighting the crescent moon.
The Supreme Court prayed for the safety of Hajj pilgrims and for their rituals to be eased and accepted.
