Saudi Arabia and France Announce 21 Agreements at Paris Investment Roundtable

PARIS, August 25 (Saudi Arabia Breaking News) — Saudi and French public- and private-sector entities announced 21 agreements and memoranda of understanding at the French-Saudi Investment Roundtable held in Paris on Monday.
The meeting took place in the presence of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and French President Emmanuel Macron.
The announced documents cover energy, industry, financial services, transport and logistics, artificial intelligence, culture, health and tourism. Their individual values, signatories and implementation dates were not disclosed in the information released.
The Saudi Ministry of Investment organized the roundtable with the participation of government officials, business leaders and chief executives of companies and institutions from both countries.
A session titled Discussing Future Prospects and Joint Projects brought together the chairmen of the Saudi-French Business Council to examine private-sector partnerships and potential joint investments.
Separate strategic discussions addressed four areas: financing and developing transformative destinations, converting industrial partnerships into executable projects, strengthening transport and logistics, and building AI capabilities and digital infrastructure.
The bilateral investment relationship is supported by French direct investment stock in Saudi Arabia valued at SAR63.9 billion in 2024, more than twice its 2021 level. France is the Kingdom’s fourth-largest source of foreign direct investment.
Trade between Saudi Arabia and France reached SAR44.2 billion in 2025.
French companies hold 651 Saudi investment licenses across 18 sectors.
Total foreign direct investment inflows into Saudi Arabia reached approximately SAR23.9 billion during the first quarter of 2026, an increase of 2.4% from the same period a year earlier. That figure covers total foreign investment entering the Kingdom and is not limited to French capital.
Saudi-French relations date to 1926. The two countries signed a strategic partnership roadmap and established the Strategic Partnership Council in December 2024.
Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Investment Strategy provide the broader Saudi framework for attracting capital and developing investment opportunities across sector value chains.
